Shed bases are the classic small pour: simple spec, small footage, and a customer who found a number online that didn’t include a concrete truck showing up. The calculator above gets you a fast ballpark. Your minimum job charge does the rest.

Small pours, honest pricing

Why contractors lose money on sheds

Not on the concrete. On the mobilization. The truck, the crew, and the morning are committed whether you pour 120 square feet or 600. Quote the visit, not just the slab. The full method, minimum and all, is in how to price a shed slab.

Your calculator, your floor price

Common questions

Should the concrete base be bigger than the shed?

Many contractors pour the pad to the shed's exact footprint so the siding overhangs the edge and rain drips off instead of pooling against the walls. An oversized pad works too, but it collects water and debris at the base of the shed.

Is a gravel base cheaper than concrete for a shed?

Usually yes, and a compacted gravel pad works fine under many prefab kits. Concrete earns its price when the shed is heavy, houses equipment, or needs anchoring, and at the example rates on this site concrete runs $9 per square foot against $1.50 for a gravel pad.

Do I need a permit for a shed base?

Depends on your area and the shed size. Many jurisdictions exempt small sheds but still have setback rules that decide where the pad can go, so check before you pour.
